Babies are the size of: A papaya. At our ultrasound last week both babies were measuring exactly 1 lb-3 oz each. By the end of this month, they are expected to DOUBLE their weight. In a month. EACH. And I tell you what, I am every bit of hungry, sleepy, and weepy to prove it (typical growth spurt behavior right before my belly pops out even more) How far along? 23 weeks. Although at 22w+5d my belly was measuring 34 weeks. So, for those of you who have had singletons and remember what your body felt like towards the END of your pregnancy, mine is there MEOW. Yes, I *am* kind of bragging like I'm some kind of B.A. :P Our doc anticipates that I should measure about 48 weeks by the time we make it full term (there's only 40 weeks in a pregnancy BTW) o_O. Not even gonna lie, I am way curious to see what kind of freak status this belly grows to. If you haven't Googled "Full term twin belly' you should. But be warned - its not for the faint of heart! lol Weight Gain? I'm thiiiiiiiiiiiiis close to breaking the 200lb mark. I havent broke that number in well over a decade. And as a matter of fact, even then I never saw it on a scale. Luckily, with my history in the fitness industry and being a certified personal trainer, its already been beaten into my dome that the number on a scale is JUST A NUMBER. Stretch Marks? Nada enchilada! Not any new/pregnancy related ones anyhow. I just read the other day that having a well built up strong abdominal wall prior to pregnancy actually helps alleviate any new stretch marks as a tight abdomen regulates the skin growth so its not so fast/rapid and skin doesn't tear. Granted, you couldn't *see* my abs when I got pregnant, they were definitely 5 years in the making and I am sooooo thankful that I've had that history. Sleep? What's that?? LOL I know what sleepy is. And sleepy Missy isnt always the sweetest thing to be around. I just can not get comfortable. If its not a pinched nerve, its a strained back, or a crushing weight. I do have an awesome gravity lawn chair that I borrowed from my mom that I am able to get a solid 3 hours straight of sleep in. But heart burn may be right around the corner - last night I was awoken to choking on my own 'vomit' - stomach acid as it were. That was fun. -_- But in all truth, I do enjoy our quiet time in the wee hours of the night/morning. This morning Leo had hiccups for the first time that I could tell. I had consistent rhythmic movement in the same space for about 10 hiccups. It was the cutest. thing. ever. Movement? LOTS of it. I feel them both daily. I thought they were still in a staggered side-by-side position and I was feeling a lot of movement on one side more than the other, which was starting to concern me that one seemed to be more active. BUT I was happy to learn that Leo is straight up and down, head down, head-butting my cervix, and Joel is high up long ways across my belly (they are basically making a "T" in my tummy) so it was reassuring to know that I'm feeling them both just as equally. Their lil kicks and punches aren't so little any more and we can SEE them from the outside! Very Sigourney Weaver style! #YoAaalien What I miss? Mostly still just being ache-free. This thing is seriously heavy and my back is letting me know. I miss being comfortable in any position. BUT I know I will miss my lil belly-buddies more when they are no longer inhabiting my uterus, so all of the aches and pains are well worth it. Food cravings? OMELETS. Lots and lots of omelets. Really just breakfast in general - but my go to is omelet and hash browns. Food aversions? Meh, not really anything in particular - if I'm not interested in something its on a case-by-case basis. Mostly its been heavy/greasy foods. My stomach is somewhere up really high on my left side - the gurgles sound like they are practically coming from my boob - so its super squished and I can only nibble so much at a time, which I think has a lot to do with not wanting heavy foods. What I’m looking forward to? NESTING! We put an offer in on our (current) dream home and they accepted it! The home inspection today went swimmingly - even the inspector was OooOohing and Ahhhhing his whole way through the house! We are scheduled to close June 27th and I can not wait to start putting together the boys' room <3 <3 Milestones? We are officially under a week until our first big milestone - viability!
