I had an interesting experience the other night. Near sleeping state (not asleep but not awake) God introduced himself to me. I knew this was coming from a series a messages that came in over the span of several days - one was this meme: Another was a YouTube Video where the reader was talking about how people call God "source" or "universe" and that it wasnt appropriate - we should be calling God, GOD.... I think that actually happened first. Then the meme. Both of which though I experienced the "highlighter" sensation during the moment (the "highlighter sensation" is basically when I receive a message that will be significant at another time but I may not understand it in that moment...like a puzzle piece that will eventually complete a puzzle - its as if my brain takes a highlighter and highlights over the moment to refer back to later). The last piece actually happened long before and was the first puzzle piece but it didnt click into place until after some Google searching - I was speaking with a friend who was warning me of the use of the Tarot and in her advice to me she was talking abut me opening up gates to entities and warned me "beware there are many Gods" and it really stuck out to me (highlighter) as I didn't recall this verse (I think she was talking about 1 Corinthians 8:5 - its the closest I can come up with to what she said but even that is up for interpretation because the bible pretty explicitly teaches there is only one God). ANYWHO Back to receptive state where I had this vision of a shadow figure - totally human form or very similar. And it kept changing forms. Rapidly. All still human forms - like basically different silhouettes of a man aged 33-43 of relatively same height/weight, but different enough to create a noticeable visual difference. Rapidly changing from one form to the other to the other. Like, you know those gifs that will rapid fire change frames and you're instructed to take a screenshot to reveal your message? It was like that. Like different frames flashing of "different people" but it was all the same person. And then I heard "Elohim". Now, I knew this was one name for God. There are many names for God: Elohim Yahweh Abba El Elyon El Roi El Shaddai Yahweh Yireh Yahweh Nissi Jehovah Rapha Yahweh Shalom So later when I Googled to learn about Elohim specifically I was floored to discover that Elohim is PLURAL... This article that I came across also leaves with the impression that Elohim is not just one name, but THE name of God. "Elohim means “God” – This name refers to God’s incredible power and might. He is the One and only God. He is Supreme, the true God in a world that promotes many false gods and religions. He is the one on whom we can fully rely, He is Sovereign, He is the one we can completely trust. He is the Mighty One over all of nature, this world, and the heavens above, our creative God who has worked wonders by His hands. God reminds that He is Elohim every single day. His amazing power is at work in every sunrise, every sunset, in the way He holds the stars in the sky, and carries His people through difficult times. You can be assured, you are held by an Almighty God, you never have to fear, God’s hands are strong and secure. “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1 “The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.” Psalm 19:1 Elohim occurs more than 2,250 times in the Bible. Elohim [yihl\a] (God), a plural of Eloah [;H/l\a], occurs more than 2, 250 times, sometimes with an addition such as "God of Abraham/Israel" but mostly it is free standing. Next to Lord (Yahweh), Elohim is the major designation for God. Elohim refers to "deity" but comes virtually to be a name for the true God. Elohim sums up what is intended by "god" or the divine. From the Bible's first sentence the superlative nature of God's power is evident as God (Elohim)speaks a world into existence (Genesis 1:3 Genesis 1:6 Genesis 1:9). His actions also bespeak his power, enabling barren women such as Sarah and Rebecca to conceive (Genesis 18:10 Genesis 18:14 ; 25:21), bringing an oppressed people out of Egypt (Exodus 20:2), and with power raising Jesus Christ from the dead (Rom 1:1-4). Believers, Peter writes, are "shielded by God's power" (1 Peter 1:5). In the name Elohim is fullness of divine power." Soo.. yea. Im not sure yet where this will lead. I dont think its finished yet, much like my "The Se7en" post where one search led to another and another resulting in a neat mind blowing discovery. I want to learn more about the "Plural-ness" as I feel that is very significant. But I wanted to log this as Ive come to discover it and share that in my understanding, God IS indeed an anthropomorphic figure and not "just" universal energy. ETA: Gen 1: 26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. God refers to self as plural 2/12/20
